Aspiring Young Africans (ASPYA) Foundation (formerly African Youth Initiative)

ASPYA Foundation (formerly African Youth Initiative) is a youth-led organisation established to disrupt cycles of disadvantage and support African-Australian young people in reaching their full potential. Founded in 2020 by a group of friends following the tragic loss of a childhood friend, the foundation has evolved from grassroots sports programs into a multi-service organisation partnering with state governments and research institutions.
Vision
To shape a world in which African-Australian young people reach their fullest potential, fostering a future where they can lead with strength, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Mission
To break the cycle of disadvantage by equipping young Africans with the skills, cultural pride, and confidence to create a bright future for themselves and their communities. ASPYA Foundation works to fill gaps in education, provide restorative justice, and create safe spaces for equity and leadership.

Why We’re Here

Too many young people have the drive to succeed but lack the network and resources to get started. We change that.

By connecting them with genuine mentorship and practical opportunities, we’re not just helping individuals build a future.
